Something that truly surprised me:

Sonic Generations.

That hedgehog has a habit of doing great. Then sucking. Then making an epic comeback. Then sucking again. Then making another epic comeback.

But Sonic Generations does away with most of the "complex" ideas, and strips it down to pretty much just one thing.

Run. Like. Mad.

Good to see him again. I'm sure I'll start hating the games again by next year. XD

Oh man I haven't played a Sonic game in forever! Those bring me back to the days where Nintendo and SEGA were rivals and created beautiful games on their consoles to try to outsell one another. Good times :3

Also, I've recently been trying to 100% complete my childhood FPS game on the N64. That is to say the 'Mother of all FPS games'... James Bond: Goldeneye on the N64. I am having trouble with a certain level, but even when I die I love every single minute of that game!

I missed out on it, but loved both Phantasy Star Portable titles.
I also think I'm the one person who actually liked Phantasy Star III -Generations of Doom- on the Sega Genesis.

Did I ever mention Dragon's Dogma on here?

It's sorta like Shadow of the Colossus, but with custom characters (including a custom AI partner), and character classes.
Too bad it wasn't online, but it was still awesome.
