You had to have seen this coming:Spoiler for Hidden:
But Shin Megami Tensei isn't an underrated series, nor are the majority of the games included under it. On the contrary, I don't think I've ever heard someone express distaste for the series if they've played the games. It just hasn't reached the level of mainstream popularity that other JRPGs enjoy.
In my opinion Jak and Daxter Games, not many people have played them. Here's an image to see if you remember it:
Basketball, Football, Boxing, Baseball, Soccer.
Those are highly overrated.
Those are some weird ass games
Those aren't games, they're sports lol
2. Persona too. I wouldn't call them underrated because I hear a lot of people talking about those (and the fact they have so many ported sequels would definitely suggest they aren't underrated). Like, I'd say Phoenix Wright is underrated perhaps because despite being pretty popular (and one of the most popular visual novel series of all time, especially in the West), it's had a lot of trouble getting its later games released in the West.
To be fair, Persona has had it's hard times. The original game on the PS1 was butchered for an American audience, and half the game was removed due to time constraints. The PS1 version of Innocent Sin never got released outside of Japan.Incidentally, the PSP version of Eternal Punishment somehow never saw the light of day outside of Japan either. While it has grown quite a fanbase, and is critically acclaimed, there's a lot of gamers who sadly ignore it (including a lot who think because it has an "anime look" it's for children). It's gaining recognition though, which is nice. So, perhaps it's in that grey area between recognized and underrated? Hopefully SEGA won't screw it up (since they bought up Index/ATLUS).I do have one that's underrated for sure though:A lot of people pick on it because "it's not a survival-horror game."But it's not that bad of a game. With the exception of the cheap insta-kills (which have been commonplace since RE4, and weren't unheard of before then), it's relatively entertaining. Plus, it's got some great co-op gameplay, especially with the DLC like Predator Mode.
