How did you discover Dragonball?

I was going through a pile of completely legal *honest* PS1 games and noticed there was one with a Japanese title, so I decided to stick it in.
Turned out to be something called Dragonball Z: Ultimate Battle 22. I didn't have Sky TV at the time, so I didn't know what it was, but the game was fun.
One day, I stuck it on while my friend was round and he got pretty excited about me having a Dragonball Z game. And the same thing happened with several friends. Apparently, there was this smash hit anime from Japan on Cartoon Network that everybody except me was watching.
When my mum subscribed to Sky TV again a couple of years later, Dragonball had just kicked off from the very beginning on Toonami. They had 2 whole days of back to back Dragonball which took me up until the world tournament where Goku fought Tien.
And from then on it was watching back to back Dragonball Z marathons and episodes of Dragonball as they premiered in the UK, and some GT, too, of course! :P
Not to mention I bought Final Bout, also on PS1 and then went onto Budokai on Gamecube.
Many years on and I'm still in love.

I found Dragon Ball by going over to my auntie's house. My cousin was there with his PS2 and a set of games. He popped in Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3, and I was enchanted. I was only 5 or 6, but I was lucky enough to remember the name and continue my love for DB/Z since then.

Saw the first episode premiere on TV. Found it completely at random (we didn't get FOX at the time, but we had a channel that sort of showed it's shows. I forget what they're labeled as, but they didn't have commercials, just blank air where the commercials would go.).

Sure it was censored, but something about it drew me in.
Been a fan ever since.

Geez, that was like 1996 I think...
Man, now I feel old.

Er... that is, the first US premiere.

I know exactly what you mean. I first played the game around 98/99 and never got to watch an episode for 2/3 years afterwards.
Definitely leaves ya feeling old!

Db and Dbz were my childhood friends, like pokemon, digimon, yu-gi-oh and some other anime from that time, which name I can't remember now (http://dborevelations.com/forums/Smileys/default/cry.gif). I can't remember how I discovered them, but everytime I try to remember my childhood, there is always either pokemon, The frieza saga and cell saga in dbz, and the first season of digimon. That was what I did when I was at home, basically.
Am I allowed to be an edgy emo teen girl even though I'm a male adult?

Well I bought years ago on my birthday (don't remember exactly what year) the game DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and I liked the game. Later I just searched the name on the internet and I found the anime.

I found out about Dragon Ball during the Toonami years. Meaning, I kept hearing about it, never got interested. The whole fad came and went without me seeing even one episode.

I started liking Dragon Ball when Goku made a playable appearance in Super Smash Flash 2. He turned out to be fun as heck to play as, so I decided to give his home series another chance. I'm glad I did.
