Also, the Broly movie was pretty good. A few moments here and there were kinda iffy, but I liked it overall

I agree with Luffy. Adding SSJB on DBO is stupid and I don't like it. I do support DBONU overall. They're doing what DBOG didn't: A fair, non-P2W DBO revival like DBOR's.

probably not, since dbor team is using  just client files from dbo, and they're doing the rest of the work (like coding, balancing game etc.)

As long as they dont force you to pay for any game services (Pay 2 Play) no, they cant get a shutdown...

I wouldn't say, can't get shutdown.

But it's not too likely. And like javsent said, as long as it isn't a subscription cost, it's not something I think we need to worry about too much.
The only money this'll cost is if you donate, and that's for the server up-keep, not profit. And technically that's optional. So you'd be paying for the server, not the game.

It's a gray area, but given what happened with the original property and the fact that it's no longer making any money, there's little chance it'll get shutdown. Still possible, but I think we're safe.

Non-profit fan projects get shut down all the time.
I don't see DBOR getting shutdown for a long while at least.
The fact that they're doing so much work really doesn't matter as it's not their original intellectual property.

Here's an example that still makes me sad

This was a full remake from scratch of Chrono trigger. As you can see from the video, the team did a lot of work, good work.
They got taken down even though it was going to be 100% free and it was made totally from scratch.

Yeah, it shows how lame Square-Enix has become. They keep releasing the same god awful remakes year after year, but someone does a non-profit version of a cherished classic that they keep half-assing, and they shut it down.

Honestly, the garbage that Square-Enix has been releasing lately makes me sick. They won't even remake Final Fantasy VII, but they've remade FFIV how many times now?
Last I checked, Final Fantasy VII is still the most widely known game in the franchise.

But I'm getting off topic, sorry.

They are coding their own work. They are working from the ground up to prevent a situation like this.

Even so, legally, it's a grey area.
They are somewhat tiptoeing around the legal issues.

But it's unlikely that someone would be so malicious as to actually make a big deal out of it.
...I hope.

There is probably one single kid in the world who's friends picked on him for watching DBZ and know he/she grew up a lawyer that is determined to destroy all DBZ related stuff.

That would suuuuuck.

I don't like to think about DBOR getting shut down...

Theres always malicious people, Square Enix for example... i dont consider it more likely, instead, less likely, because the original game isn't running so shutting this one down wont make any difference(Userbase-wide), as Userbase is the main reason PServers get shut down so much...

NTL or whoever was running the game(i dont remember) has to be over 9000 malicious level to shut down this sanctified Dragon Ball ground...

Plus, private servers on game's the public doesn't really care about don't normally get shut down.

Just a heads up Simmy.

Bandai-Namco does exist still, and they own Shonen Jump and Toei and therefor Dragon Ball if memory serves, so they can most certainly shut it down.

At the very least, they own the rights to the games.

Although, I don't think they will shut it down, they certainly can.

Yes it can get shut down.

1st. Donators stop donate for server!

2ndDBOR Team run out of cash or get piss off/bored of DBOR and start to run DBOR Server!

For me every member in DBOR team is epic in own way. They care about us players, that is only reason why they pushing themselves soo hard, why they even pay this website and server for DBOR and even work on game.

dont think a company or one solo person who lost this in the 1st place is really gonna care about shutting it down as long it is none profitable!
