Well... I wouldn't put much faith in IGN. (Can't spell ignorance without IGN).But if GameStop is really going...I really don't care. 'Cuz GameStop sucks.
There are a lot of other places covering this. I linked IGN cuz I'm lazy and it was the first one Google gave me.
Okay. If multiple sources are saying it, then I can probably believe it.Now if only IGN would go under.Wow. I am full of hate towards a lot of things aren't I? XD
What this world has become and is becoming is worthy of hatred.
Can't argue that. Kinda makes me sad... when it doesn't make me hate. XDI always had a hard time shopping at GameStop (they don't have one here, but when I'd go to visit family or go to a nearby city they usually had one. The one in the neighboring city didn't even last a full year). The clerks were arrogant and usually knew nothing of the products they were selling. The local video store here might not sell games (you have to order them 99% of the time), but they at least have details on the games most of the time. Heck the local store even mentions DBZ (they had a thing listing Battle of Z back when it was announced) and Persona. The people that own it are good people too.
I have a store here that still stays retro. A few months ago when I wanted an NES that's where I went. They have a lot of stock and its kind of a mess inside but the guys who run it are good guys who actually care about gaming.
They had one of those combination NES-SNES-Genesis things at the video store here a while back. I thought about getting it, but I still have my old Genesis. I don't use it much, but it's comforting that it's there. There's a little game store in a nearby city. It ran the GameStop there into the ground with ease. They've got games from every generation there too. They can import, too (although so can the video store here). They also give an awesome trade-in value. You trade in a game, the bare-minimum (even if it doesn't have the original case or instructions and was a super-common release, as long as it's not a sports game) was $5.00. I traded in around 3 old games, and got $25. I took that money and bought Crisis Core and a Harvest Moon game for my PSP. Good times. XD
Those combo systems are usually shit wrapped in plastic. Don't get it.I only ever bought from gamestop because I don't have a license or a car and the only people who who give me rides don't like taking me to the local shop because the store is a mess, I end up staying in there for almost an hour sometimes and the guy behind the counter has green hair.
Are those combo systems that bad? I'll take your word for it.But yeah, I noticed the GameStops I've been to, they always had ridiculous hair...The only time I was ever satisfied at a GameStop was when I was in high school. I was visiting my mom for Christmas, and they had a deal going that was like buy 3 used games and get one free. The "game" I got for free was Bardock: The Father of Goku on DVD. Not a game, but dammit, that is one fine TV Special.
Maybe if your mindset is stuck in the 50s.The guys who run the store haven't admitted to it, and I have no actual evidence, but they're stoners.
Welcome to PhoneStop
If GameStop dont sell games, what will they sell? Posters?...
