Yeah, I know he didn't have scars, but lately they've been making the DBZ characters look way different. Do you see how Goku and especially how Vegeta look in the picture? Also did you see Battle of Gods? Characters look different. It looks Yamcha. But he could be Gohan or Goten.

I guess so. Though, I doubt they'd remove one of Yamcha's trademarks... Like, his never been consotant with hairstyles, but the facial scars have always stayed the same.. Even in BOG.

I don't think that's Yamcha.
It makes the most sense for it to be Gohan.

After all, look at the heroes presented.

Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Kuririn, and that guy.

Who fought Freeza?

Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Kuririn, and Gohan.

So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works."

Wait wait wait. Why would they bring back Frieza? I liked that particular saga, but I just feel like he's one of those villains who should stay dead. And I'm wondering to myself how is he going to even stand a chance to any of the OP Z-fighters. Okay, so he gets God form...but surely this alone doesn't boost his power level to anywhere near what Goku's become...maybe even let alone Ultimate Gohan.

As much as I wanted Battle of the Gods 2 to come out, I feel like I'm going to be disappointed in it. I really do hope Toriyama will prove me wrong though.

Who else would you want to come back. I think out of the villain freiza was the most qualified to return.

Sometimes he has scars on his right side and sometimes he doesn't:

My guess is they either tried to make the poster 'kid friendly' or forgot. There's a possibility it could be Gohan, but sorry, I'm pretty sure it's Yamcha just by looking at his hair and athletic clothing. I also think Toriyama is going to give Yamcha more of a role like Vegeta(probably fighting Frieza's grunts) since he hasn't done anything in a long, long time and gets so much crap for it. Anybody wanna put money on it? ;D

But what I don't understand is why would it make sense? What I mean is, what's so special about frieza?

Animation errors are one thing, but Yamcha wasn't involved with the Freeza saga, and since it showed Piccolo (and strangely enough, a bald Kuririn), it makes me think it's a redux of the Freeza saga.

Also, this:

(That's not even counting Mirai no Gohan, who had scars.)

"I am the bone of my sword

Because Battle of Gods was a storyline to this movie. Everyone knows Frieza and has a storyline with him. He's the perfect choice to bring back. Please tell me another villain that they could bring back and that would make sense without them having to create a whole new storyline out of nowhere and keep adding stuff.

Wait what? I understand Battle of Gods is canon. I'm not disagreeing with that. And I know Frieza has a storyline with him. But...if you think about it...don't all the other villains have one too?

They probably brought back Freeza because he's the most recognizable villain in the series.
He more-or-less sent the entire plot into motion by destroying Planet Vegeta, which led to Goku's arrival on Earth, and eventually awakening as the Super-Saiyajin.

I guess that makes the most sense. Still don't understand how Toriyama is gonna pull off the power boost though.

How does Toriyama always pull off a power boost?
By having the character pull it out of their ass in a ridiculous manner that still doesn't seem tacked on. XD

I will admit that this doesn't happen often if at all when compared to something like Naruto, but that's a whole different story.

Even though Gohan and Yamcha look very much alike, I really think it's Yamcha with a haircut and the scar on his right side was probably removed to make the poster more 'family friendly' or maybe it was an error like the SSJ Gohan thing in the first movie. I've also read some theories contemplating whether or not this is a different universe which is a pretty interesting.

A word to the wise... most theories are way off. Remember when everyone was saying this movie was gonna be about an evil Goku? >.>

And "family friendly" isn't something they'd have to worry about. Yamcha's scar was present in BoG (other than a few animation errors). It's not like it was a grotesque wound or anything.

I'm fairly certain that's Gohan. The context of it makes more sense than Yamcha, who's role diminished after the Saiyajin saga, and this just looks like a giant reference to the Freeza saga... where Yamcha had virtually no role.

I don't think the different universe theory is necessarily true, I said it was interesting lol. And that evil Goku thing wasn't a theory, it was a falsely spread rumor created by a tabloid site to get hits.

I hope it is Yamcha because he's done nothing in a long time and if it's Gohan then he looks a lot less cool.
