Oh yeah, I heard of this project. However, I don't feel like getting too invested in it while it's in development. If it makes it to full release, I might check it out.

The good thing is they're not stealing content nor hacking the "competition" to make their lives miserable. Not to mention they plan to remove all P2W elements and the cash shop. At least that's what I heard. Glad to know there are more projects like DBOR out there.

Hey man! Welcome!

Xenoverse was indeed greatly inspired by Toriyama's story for Dragon Ball Online. Sadly, that game was the one that got localized in many countries and got a huge success while DBO slowly died.

The project has slowed down, but there's small work going on behind the scenes. There are just no announcements because it's either really small details or just stuff that barely anyone would understand.

If you have any questions or have someone you'd like to talk with, feel free to hit me up.

Summarized story: DBO failed because they didn't distribute it to the West. Servers were closed and DBO died.

DBORevelations became a server revival project, trying to bring the game back following the parameters to keep it legitimate. They can't legally make money off of it so it's a project the team can only work on during their free time.

Later on, another illegitimate project showed up. They actually make money off of they DBO server and Bandai has asked them to shut their servers down but they won't do it. They began by stealing codes from DBOR and then hacking the team's personal accounts (like Facebook and Deviantart) to scare them off the "competition".

Of course, they'll never admit they did any of that.

Current situation: DBOR has slowed down their progress (but not completely stopped), as many developers have their own lives to worry about and others had to step down for their own safety since they don't want to get their personal lives targetted by those guys again.

General Discussion / Re: Future Content
« on: May 30, 2018, 06:41:08 AM »
Adding new content might go from simple events to making a new chapter in the story. The first one just requires some relatively simple coding work, if any at all.

On the other hand, making a new chapter for DBO means writing a new story, making new animations, modeling new characters and maps... It would probably come with a level cap increase too, which means new abilities, new animations for those, new icons... Not to mention the work of balancing and keeping it fair for everyone.

I could list a million things mentioning how complicated it could be. It all depends on how much they intend to add and how it will be made. Some can be easy, while others might require a crap-ton of work. It can be done, but each of those has different levels of work to achieve.

Welcome back! I agree with everything you said about the team. I still respect them and am patiently waiting for their project to release sometime.

I don't judge people by age so don't worry about it. I'm almost 23 years old and I have online friends ranging from 14 to 30 and even higher.

EP 131 was great, i loved it

I gotta admit it was a lot better than I expected. The final battle choreography was pretty neat, especially considering this is Toei we're talking about. However, my main issue is how it ended. The final wish was too predictable, to the point everyone had already figured at some point in the tournament the winner would make that wish.

Of course, considering this arc lasted for over a year, it was long enough for everyone to actually predict every possible thing that could happen.

Now, here is where my spoilers begin for those who haven't watched it. Gonna add a spoiler tag because last time I didn't, a bunch of people got mad at me, even though this thread is full of spoilers.

Spoiler for Hidden:
I liked to see other characters shine. Specially Freeza and 17 working together with Goku. I wanted to see someone else win the tournament and not Goku, but in the end, he did all the work and even got the final KO (along with Freeza), even if he fell along with it. I'm not mad at the ending, but I think it could've been better.

Looking forward to the next movie though.

F*ck them xD
The content of them is correct, but things happened a little different in the Anime. You should catch up tho. The lates episode was dope. Saying this although i hate DBS :D

Also they released a teaser for the next movie. But it's not the final product so don't be surprised by the Animation etc. Have to admit that Goku actually looks like straight out of DBO in this one lmao.

I'll put it into spoilers but it doesn't really spoil anything. Except for maybe glimpse of the look of the Saiyan (?) who will be the enemy.
Spoiler for Hidden:

Oh yeah. I'm caught up. Otherwise I wouldn't have shown up in this thread. :P

The last episode was pretty neat for DBS standards, but I'm still waiting for it to end. While DBS is not bad, it's not that great either. The ToP was dragged on for way too long and it started getting annoying. I basically just want it to end already. Ironically, most Latin Americans are absolutely loving it. I think my fellow Latinos have no taste.

As for the movie, I watched the trailer too. The animation is super fluid and realistic. Based off of that, I wonder if Toei decided to have another studio make the movie or something. XD

I do think they lack shadows in that art. It looks a bit flat but looks really good. Also, Goku got his manga-colored clothes finally! You also said it's not the final product. I think it's weird for them to reveal that if it's not finished yet. It's a really bad play. I hope they do improve the shadows. That's basically my only issue with it.

I tend to lag a few episodes behind in DBS, so I completely ignore this thread until I catch up. I am indeed reading these posts, @Monkey D. Luffy (if I'm up to date with the show).

Well, things are doing good in the community. No hate, no flaming, no toxic members, no creeps... People are nice. However, we mostly just talk in the shoutbox these days. No much activity in forum posts.

The project is up and running, limited to whatever the devs are allowed to do in their free time (remember they're not getting paid for this) so meanwhile, we just chill here and wait for the game to come out.

Welcome to the forums! Always happy to see a new face around.

You guys all know that DBS is ending right... there's no "next arc"... sad face

[EDIT] The "hiatus" is not a hiatus. DBS is ending.

Toei said it's a temporal thing though. I remember reading that somewhere.

Crane and Griffel were permabanned some time ago, if I recall correctly, so they're no longer here. They eventually gave up on making new accounts all the time. Hope that answers your question.

bruh....i really hope there won't be a f*cking cliffhanger. After stretching this sh*t for so long i wanna see it end 100%! Especially since we all know how it will end. Don't wanna wait months just to see what i know lol. They would do way better ending this arc and take a break for another arc which could be cool if they use the time they'll have wise.

The thing is, right now i don't know what kind of arc we could get xD
This universe fight feels like the maximum of what they can pull off. Only thing to do is showing the other universes that are not participating in the tournament right now. And since we met Jiren, who already is a big sh*t when it comes to power, i'm sure they can add even stronger characters who live in one of the other universes. And ofc Jiren would look like a b*tch compared to those ppl.

Spoiler for Hidden:

Nah. I think it'll be a cliffhanger of the next arc. They'll show some kind of evil character grinning in the shadows that might give a little hint of what the next enemy will be or something. I bet they're gonna leave that open to speculation and use what people can come up with as ideas for the next arc once DBS returns.

They've been stretching this arc for too long imo... time to naughtyword that space Swarzenegger's face up and make the wish and they all lived happily ever after until the next space boss

They only have 4 episodes left. I believe they're gonna wrap it up quickly, with a quick cliffhanger/tease of whatever we might be getting once DBS returns.

General Discussion / Re: Any active members of old?
« on: February 01, 2018, 12:42:15 AM »
Well, I played DBO since shortly after the release of the TW servers. I kept dropping the game and getting back on it. Last time I tried playing it, the servers had been taken down like a week earlier or something like that. I never really got to level cap or got to wish for Super Saiyajin, but I had a blast back then.

If you mean old forum members... Well, I wasn't one of the first, but I joined considerably early. I believe it was July 2014 when I joined, if I recall correctly. Been here a while, and still am. I check the forums every day if I get access to my browser.

I'm sure I'll be playing DBOR once it releases. Been waiting too long just not to do it. :P

Edit: Didn't see the poll. Now I know for sure you mean old DBO players.

Game Discussion / Re: Is the "Project" Still in devlopment ?
« on: January 26, 2018, 06:42:36 AM »
Not sure what you mean when you add quotation marks on "project" because this is indeed a project. It can't be anything else. I don't like to compare DBOR with DBOG because of the terrible and illegal stuff DBOG has done.

I wouldn't know if they plan on doing a pre-open beta or going straight to open beta or what they're gonna do with the alpha since that's information only the development team knows about. I can tell you for sure that the project is still going and you can get the same reply in almost every new thread. You can browse the site for about 10 seconds and find one.

Personally, I believe a "pre-open beta" is not a good idea, mostly because the term makes little to no sense. You can't "pre-open" something in any aspect. It's either open or closed. It makes more sense to jump from a closed beta to an open beta instead without "pre-opening" the beta.

Well I'm good to have started things off well. Get that dirty stuff out of the way.
Well, let the team know we are cheering for them and hope things work out well.

That's right. We're still here, and we will be until we get DBOR.

Game Discussion / Re: Project Status

Hi Devs,
I totally understand you don't want to see any one asking but it's been a while since we've seen a project update or release option.
The other group (Dragon Ball Global) has a release, but you're looks much more stable then theirs.
Do you have a working playable Beta, or a potential release date?   If not, what do you need to keep the project moving?

Thank you,

I don't like comparing to DBOG's progress because theirs was obtained by illegal methods that I don't feel like explaining yet again in another thread.

I am not a member of the DBOR team, but I am in constant contact with them and I know they're still working but they've found big issues in the process. If you don't know, a certain team member had his forum account hacked by a certain someone who used to work in DBOG, along with his Facebook and DeviantArt (and maybe more accounts but those are the ones I know of). All his posts on Facebook and Deviantart were deleted and replaced with the Isis logo, if I recall correctly.

For his own safety, this member had to leave the project, and so did a few others, but the team still has people working hard to deliver us the DBOR we're waiting for. There have been no announcements because the progress that has been made is the kind of progress no one will understand unless they're programmers with enough skill and knowledge to help with the project.

Also, wanna drop a meme here and say:

Hey, first "why no announcements?" post of the year! Off to a great start. :D
