Bandai Namco is publishing Dragon Ball: Project Fusion. However, another company is actually developing the game.

A new blog post reveals that Ganbarion is working on Dragon Ball: Project Fusion. You may know the studio for Pandora’s Tower and One Piece games such as One Piece: Unlimited World RED and the One Piece: Unlimited series.

It will be on the 3DS, and here is the official website.

1. I hope those are the graphics, they look really good
2. Why is Goku trying to fuse with Broly? If this happens I will not buy it. Please don't be Heroes 2.0  :o

Nope, not this time. This one seems to know it's gonna be stupid.

Which obviously, it is.

It hasn't been mentioned in the thread yet, but apparently this game is an RPG, not yet another fighter like I was expecting.

Sounds like a great game. It's such a bad concept that it's fun!

That's what I'm betting this game will be at least.

Well someone didn't play the AMAZING GBA DBZ RPGS(I'm talking about Legacy of Goku 2 and Buu's Fury, those were absolutely Fantastic! popo the original Legacy of Goku though it sucked massive popo. And it should be stated although it wasn't an RPG,Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure was also another great 2D Action Platformer Beat 'em up.)

If it's anything like those then we're in for a treat =D

Really, Gewku? You know I played plenty of DBZ RPGs before you were even born, right?
Not to mention I still have Buu's Fury in my GBA... (and the fact that I have a physical copy of the Japan-only Goku Hishouden, which to this day, despite having finished it multiple times, still have no remote clue as to how to play it).

And apparently someone doesn't realize those Legacy of Goku games were actually made in the west by a studio that no longer has the Dragon Ball licence (and were also responsible for the abysmal Dragon Ball GT: Transformation... a game so bad, it cancelled it's in-development sequel, and the pitifully bad Dragon Ball Z: Taiketsu, a fighting game that's DBZ Kinect levels of bad)... and while somewhat fun, tended to also be tedious grindfests with annoyingly level capped areas requiring you to level up your characters as opposed to actually playing the game, or leveling up on your own, as well as sporting some god-awful end game content (whoopee, I can play as Mr. Satan and grind to level 50 for a crappy ending that completely sucks, and whoopee, I can play as Gogeta, now that there's literally no enemy that can pose any sort of threat anymore), on top of having some downright broken mechanics.
The LoG trilogy was hardly amazing (they were like a less impressive version of the Seiken Densetsu/Mana series), even if they could be a lot of fun.

Moreover, the issue is that the last two DBZ RPGs (to the best of my knowledge) were pretty bad. Harukanaru Densetsu was like a really crappy version of the old NES/SNES DBZ RPGs (like Legend of the Super-Saiyajin), and frankly, Attack of the Saiyans was pretty boring (so much so, that it never got a sequel... not to mention, it too shoehorned Broly in, despite being a game that covers the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai up through to the end of the Saiyajin arc).

And if it's anything like the games I just mentioned, it's gonna be a steaming pile. It's also being developed by a studio that may have made a couple good games (Jump Super and Ultimate Stars), but is also known for shovelware like countless awful One Piece titles and trash like Wii Fit U.

Maybe it'll surprise me, but the fact that the first image was of Goku and Broly trying to fuse and it's an RPG doesn't exactly fill me with hope.

For the record, I'm not saying it's gonna be crap, but let's be honest... Project Fusion looks like it's trying to appeal to the same braindead masses that salivate over garbage like Dragon Ball Heroes, going more for absurd transformations (or fusions in this case) rather than an actual quality game.
Again, it could surprise me, but I'm not holding my breath, especially considering the developer.

If it plays similar to Attack of the Saiyans, it'll be all right.

I dunno if I can agree with that.
It kinda struck me as dull.

Now if it plays like Goku Gekitouden...

It really bums me out when one of the most fun and unique Dragon Ball games (and RPGs in general) never got released outside of Japan. Plus, it totally has a minigame where you shoot Namekian frogs.

...Man, I sound like such an old fart these days. "Back in my day, we had to wait for a bad fan translated patch to play our Japan only RPGs! GET OFF MY LAWN!"

page translated into English

Dragon Ball 3DS Project Fusion is a new RPG that will bring us fully into the always exciting history of Dragon Ball. We met just a week of its release, and now we get to know new material that gradually pinpoints what will allow us to enjoy this new and highly anticipated game.

In announcing the game last week, we did not know too many details about the new Dragon Ball 3DS Fusion Project, but now, thanks to Allgamesbeta we have known an English translated scan that gives us some keys to the game. Among them we can find for example in the major emphasis is that it is the first RPG Dragon Ball 3DS, plus it will be a game with endless possibilities.

This is an important aspect and that is by far the possibility of merging characters and environments come from any world, providing this large number of possibilities and making our point Hype remarks. As opdemos see this aspect is insistent and around which revolves the entire publication, the possibilities offered, for example, to create our own warriors in this Dragon Ball 3DS Project Fusion. In any case it is one of the great releases 2016 deste 3DS, which will star the fusion of Goku and Broly, which is being developed by Ganbarion. :)
