In case you haven't noticed in the many posts by other members, the server que is...quite long. Like, 2000 in the early afternoon, 5000 in the evening, and that's on the LESS POPULATED servers. They really should have made more servers or made the servers larger, they were clearly unprepared for this. Enough about that though, onto the actual game.
First off, the story...is a complete joke. Not that the idea is bad, or that the characters are terribly designed, but the writing is really cliche, the animation is clunky, and as is typical with MMOs, the voice acting is TERRIBLE. I almost laughed at some of the cutscenes for how ridiculous some of them looked. Which is somewhat of a shame, since the graphics and art style aren't actually half bad.
As for controls, there are aspects I do and don't like. The controls work like Smite's do, you move with WASD, you perform normal attacks by clicking the mouse button, and you perform skills by pressing the number keys. The unfortunate thing is that for some reason they decided they needed a lockon system, and your attacks only occur in an enemy is "in range", instead of being able to attack freely. Other than that, there's nothing unique about the skill system that really is worth mentioning.
They are going to be adding in more servers and an AFK kick timer in the next 2 days, which should reduce the server queue and over population greatly. Right now, I think the game is only worth to play if you are a premium member, because you are able to skip the queue without any problems. I've never had to wait once. If you aren't prepared to spend the money then I think it's best to wait for the AFK timer and other servers to be added into the game so it helps your experience.
I'm yet to play an MMO with a good story and cutscenes. Honestly compared to other MMO's out there this one isn't too bad. I don't mind the general idea behind it.
Have you switched to classic mode? You can change the mode in settings/options to "classic" mode, which allows you to play the game like every other MMO out there. Switching to classic mode makes the game more of a point and click mmo.
I am banned so,0/10.
How did that even happen?
Didn't like his character look.too racist.
It was too racist? =.=So basically, they say "make whatever you want" then ban you when you do?
Luke, is spot on, support told me my character was racist banned me.In all seriousness, I use a VPN service to increase my ping to the servers in Dallas (I am from Australia), which reduces my ping from 350 to 160. They banned me for this reason.
Don't I look silly? XDWell played, Dumke. Well played. But that seriously sucks, either way. You're not able to make an appeal or anything?
Blade and soul is love, blade and soul is love.No but srriously, more "go here, kill x mobs" " go there fetch herbs"I went on a massive journey to ascend to level 3 and i pretty much stoped there and uninstalled the game.10/10
Ah, didn't know that. Yeah, the wait time was one of my biggest problems, so I'm glad they're at least doing something for it.
While normally I would agree with you, it's been awhile since I've seen something...this bad. It's trying so hard to be serious and dramatic, when everything is so lackluster. Hell, it starts out introducing you to some interesting character, then literally kills them off in 5 minutes, before you even get to know anybody.
No but srriously, more "go here, kill x mobs" " go there fetch herbs"
I haven't played much since I've been busy but I'm liking it a lot so far. The combo-based combat feels great (way better than TERA's) and the fact that I have to sorta aim at my enemy makes it even harder than just clicking on it or hitting the tab key to target and just spam skills that will always land (unless the target has dodge rate or stuff like that, of course).About the story... You're right, seems like it's not that great. I read somewhere that the Western versions of the game got the Asian ones censored, changing a lot of the story but I don't really know how the original version would go.Graphics, I can't really review on that. My laptop sucks and I can't run it on good quality. Quests... All MMORPGs have this system. Guild Wars 2 is one of the few that proves to be sorta different when it comes to quests, but I do think that Blade & Soul could've tried something new and more innovative. Before reviewing it so harshly, remember the game's an e-sport and most of it is based on the high-level play, like most MMORPGs. Also, the game was originally released in 2012 or 2013... It's not a new game so it probably keeps a lot of old aspects of the game from back when it started.
