No. One thing you need to remember is that most of the movie material was created by Toei Animation and not Akira Toriyama. The movies also conflicted with the main story (especially with timeline placement) and are considered non-canon. The ideas in general were also just terrible. For instance...Broli is just a poorly done villain made to create the concept of a Legendary Super Saiyan who appeared once every 1,000 years. Honestly the only thing I like about the guy is how he takes the Super Saiyan concept and uses it against the heroes. That's it. His personality sucks, his backstory doesn't make a lot of sense, especially the whole "grudge against Goku since they were babies" deal because how in the hell could he know it was specifically him who was wailing? Unless Saiyan babies have an easier time remembering moments from when they were just one day old, Broli should not have been able to tell who's voice that was. He's also broken as a character considering how his Legendary Super Saiyan form works. You also know he's bad when his English voice actor himself admits he hates playing the guy.
Get ready to get a lot of . There's a lot of Broly lovers here.
That being said... Broly is one of the less interesting movie villains. The whole idea of "the Legendary Super-Saiyajin" doesn't really work, since that's what Goku was already referred to repeatedly during the Freeza arc. Then Broly pops up, and suddenly he's the "Legendary Super-Saiyajin" instead, with nothing really contradicting the Freeza arc, not even a throwaway line like "This is what the true Legend is supposed to be!"
I don't think there's such a thing as a "true" fan. Even if you have extensive knowledge of the series and such you're still a fan.
THERE'S TWO DIFFERENT VIEWS HERE LIKE...DBZ Fans: OMG! That's a naughtyword awesome tattoo!True DBZ Fans: Uuuuhhmm.. Majin Vegeta never wore that armor in the series and manga.
And then there's Nia, who just thinks "WHERE ARE HIS PUPILS!? "
