Upfront, the game's heavily ping-oriented, so unless you're armed with a vpn your overall gameplay experience will prove to be lacking. (unless you're living in china ! lel)
With that said, having played the CN version for 2 months since its OBT I'd say its definitely a solid action-mmorpg. The visuals are absolutely stunning and the combat is swift ; breaks away from the traditional tab-targeting, alot faster than TERA. B&S also delivers an ELO-rating system for PvP, where players compete in 1v1 and 3v3 to earn rankings and climb the ladder. Given its enormous fanbase, players have already generated an english patch that has translated 80% of the UI/content rendering it playable for most foreigner players.
The overall PvE experience may seem a little lackluster once you grasp everything, but the system makes it up by allowing instant queues and heroic/4/6man modes, allowing players to take different approaches when tackling certain dungeons. Rare loot are distributed in a way similar to WoW's bid system, the player whom wins the bid will obtain the item, the rest will be given a portion of the money. Quite similar to the infamous GW2, you'd have to apply two CCs of the same type in succession in order to successfully CC a boss, allowing players to improvise combos during dire situations.
Class balance wise, I think B&S has done a great job in establishing profession equilibrium. Every class has a method to counter another in various situations. ( C > B > A , A > B > C , B > A > C ) depending on how the player chooses his/her class talents. Unlike DBO, each skill can be traited in a way to obtain a different effect during the heat of the battle; you are free to reset your skill talents at any time, any place. I.E. a Lyn Blade Master may choose between having increased movement speed/defence during the spin or a 3 second parry (invincibility frames) during the spin. an Assassin could kagebunshin towards the enemy and stun him, or kagebunshi away from the enemy and lay out traps to deliver DoT damage. This breeds countless possibilities and promotes theorycrafting towards the meta, a constantly evolving meta. say good bye to Cookie-cutter IMBA builds ; they're only excellent players, but no overpowered classes.
So for those people whom are waiting for DBOR's release, B&S CN's free and may just be a nice alternative !
