Go to the site type in mmodbo lol ppl should of known
Everyone knew it was fake from the beginning..
There was a lot of people who thought that if anyone that could open a website and put a clock timer had to be completely truth and would never steal their money.Logic has been understimated once again.
Those ppl who donated are really the biggest idiots in this galaxy....and i really don't feel sorry for them. Can't believe that those kind of stupidity really exists...
I hope that what I'm about to say is not going to be taken as a DBOR Staff Member speaking, but more of a regular user waiting for DBO to comeback...This was so obvious that I just don't even feel bad for the people that believed and even paid to some obvious scammers, even thou most people (including me) tried to warn them about this.
It was also the people who visited his site without ad-block, as he had two ads, plus a Ad-fly redirect.(made probably around $200-300 from his ads alone)
Which was why I never bothered to click on that site. I really think that if sites like that pop up in the future moderators of this forum should delete all posts related to them. As much of a hassle that sounds, it would be best to prevent these scammers from making money, as preventing awareness of their website would be the key. In other words, less hits to their fake site = less money for them to make.Fair to say, there has always been sites like this even when DBO was up. Some people would fall for "DBO HACKs" videos on youtube for example, so I guess preventing stupidity over the internet is by all means an impossible task.
in future, i'll setup a site block list, like dbocom had.
I don't think that is the good step because that looks like you wanna isolate the forum from other dbo projects or so >.>if peoples don't wanna listen to your warnings just let them do what ever they want... they would be disappointed because of their fault
Isolate the forum from other DBO projects? No. Dumke never said anything about doing that. The difference is MMODBO wasn't a "DBO project" but it was a DBO scam. Isn't it better to prevent scammers who are making money for no reason, even if that reason is the stupidity of people? The fact is - sites like MMODBO did not provide any substantial evidence to even prove that they were a dbo project. They were just a bunch of people hosting a countdown site, and that was it. I don't think it's right to let people get burned just because they aren't willing to listen. I believe in the saying "prevention is better then a cure" and this site can prevent scammers like this, by preventing awareness of their website.
